Ancient Mediterranean a vintage mediterranean visual theme in sepia, cream, and blue with baroque gold details.
A mood board inspired by the trend among many brands to use landscapes as their subject matter. Here, Andres Otalora, but other brands too, such as Alemais and Johanna Ortiz, have done the same. The landscape I have chosen is the seafront of a tiny island near my home, which will then be framed by palm trees and shells.
To create the frame for the scarf, I used three bas-reliefs as a reference and drew one section.
A historic photograph of the seafront on the island of Carloforte, also known as San Pietro, becomes the focal point of the landscape.
Two studies of possible colour proposals: a negative version with a dark green border and a positive version with a camel coloured border. Both have an added shade at the top.
An initial mock-up idea. A borderless landscape printed on a jacquard fabric, which could be silk or viscose and used to make a skirt.
Another mock-up idea. A fresher, more summery colour scheme is ideal for a cotton dress.
Final project. I chose the summery version with the light blue border and the white that reflects the sun's rays on the water.
